About me

Welcome! I am Shengtai Yao (姚圣泰), an incoming Ph.D. student in Operations Research within the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Previously, I obtained my Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University, where I was fortunate to work with Mateo Díaz, Luhao Zhang and Yixuan Wu. Prior to this, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Elite program) from Tsinghua University advised by Qiang He.

Research Interest

Broadly speaking, I’m interested in Optimization and Machine Learning Theory and I’m currently working on topics related to Geometric Machine Learning.
